Before you purchase your spray gun, you need to know...
Choosing the correct tip size gun to spray the material -
1 . Read your material Technical Data Sheet
2. Find the numbers for Viscosity
e.g. Viscosity - Ford #4 at 77°F/25°C: 10-14 seconds
Or the suggestion like:
Spray gun set-up: Application pressure:
Gravity: 1.3 – 1.5 mm Siphon: 1.6 – 1.8 mm 30–40 psi (2-3 bar) at the air inlet HVLP max 10 psi (0.7 bar) at the air cap
3. Use the Reference as below:
Suggested Tip Sets
LC Low Viscosity (16 sec. Ford #4 and Lower)
.8-1.0 pressure or mini gun / 1.0-1.3 Gravity Feed i.e. stains dyes, automotive base coats, thin woodworking
LCMC Low to Medium Viscosity (16-28 sec. Ford #4)
1.0-1.2 pressure or mini gun / 1.3-1.5 Gravity Feed i.e. Automotive Clears, Plane and Boat Urethanes, thin woodworking
